About Global Voice

Global Voice was founded in 2001 as an international NGO, with offices in Newcastle (UK), Brussels (Belgium) and Palermo (Italy).
During the first decade of the 21st Century, Global Voice pioneered and partnered in a series of award-winning, multi-country projects in the fields of education, media and conflict resolution. This included: the flag-ship programme ‘Youth Voice’, winner of the UK Millennium Volunteer Prize for Participation; ‘Union Get Peace’, the first EU-financed Initiative with youth leaders from Israel and Palestine following the 2nd Intifada; and ‘Active Citizenship Test (ACT)’, an EU joint action project (Socrates, Leonordo and Youth).

Through its mission, Global Voice also co-created and chaired the ‘Euro-Mediterranean Federation’ of NGOs, with founding member organisations from Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Today, Global Voice’s international programmes and networks are sustained through the work of ‘CESIE’, the European Centre of Studies and Initiatives.
